About HIMP:

- HIMP is designed and built specifically to assist heritage site managers in making informed decisions about resource optimization, material and manpower disbursement and financial allocations across all heritage sites under their guardianship.

- It runs on Terragate and TEP applications of Skyline, a web-enabled 3D GIS software, whose interface was specially developed to suit HIMP's requirements.

- The team first puts together the base layer - a comprehensive database of a particular organisation's heritage sites.

- Next, conservation tools that are specific to a particular organisation are overlayed on this base layer.

- In the process, HIMP provides the value addition of becoming the single point source of all information about a site

- Further, as per the organisation's needs, certain sections of data can be made accessible to general public. Thus doing away with the need to set up an independent publicly accessible or visitor interface. To aid this HIMP is designed to run on a web-enabled platform .

- HIMP offers a hierarchy of log-ins. Thus all data is not visible and editable at all level of operations and management.

- Most significant, it is completely customisable, thus can be changed according to the needs of individual organisational, jurisdictional and site management structures.
