Its focus is creating a rich interactive database for the public rather than aiding site management.

The HIMP team understands its focus is data compilation rather than developing customised interfaces to aid conservation decision making.

GHN sites is an interactive database developed by the Global Heritage Fund as part of its Global Heritage Network, set up as a threat monitoring system and to enable expert collaboration.

The HIMP team considers this fairly close to what they are attempting where in icons are overlayed to display threats and their locations. However it is not oriented towards any one particular organisation's sites or decision making process.
